A semi-permanent technique that creates beautifully soft, powdered brows — ideal for a polished, low-maintenance look.
Microshading is a semi-permanent makeup technique for sparse, light or over-plucked brows. Special pigments are implanted into the surface layers of the skin in tiny dots that can be more or less saturated, depending on how dramatic you want the look. It gives the illusion of thicker, natural brows — it doesn't wash off or smudge, and it lasts up to 3 years.
Usually between 2 and 3 hours. Most clients require an additional touch-up session 6–8 weeks later to perfect the pigment.
We discuss your expectations, walk you through the procedure and recommend the best shape and color for your skin tone. The healed color will be 25–30% lighter than it appears immediately after.
Microshading lasts 1 to 3 years, with annual touch-ups recommended for best results. Aftercare, lifestyle and skin type all affect longevity — exposure to sunlight, salt water and harsh skincare ingredients can shorten it.
Comfort levels vary. Clients who wax or pluck regularly tend to find it manageable. We use a safe topical numbing cream to ease the procedure as much as possible.
Avoid sunbathing or tanning for ~2 weeks. Stop retinol or Vitamin A products one month prior. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, aspirin and fish oil for 24 hours before. Don't pluck or wax brows for at least a week, and don't have any facials for 2 weeks beforehand. If you take blood thinners, consult your GP.
